Hard rock shield

In hard rock special forces are required. Especially with demanding large projects -diameters are often above eleven metres, tunnel lengths of several kilometres have to be driven - Herrenknecht proves its efficiency. From planning through to manufacturing of the machine, even to tunnelling itself.

The cutter heads fitted with roller cutting discs are subject to high loads. Buckets on the periphery transfer the excavated material towards the area behind the cutter head. The machine is advanced either through pushing against the segmentallining or gripper techniques. With smaller diameters pipe-jacking is also possible.
